Terms of Service

The short version

Scrumagic is a practice simulator for learning to run Scrum. You need to be 13 or older, keep your account secure and use the service fairly.

The AI teammates are fictional and can be wrong. Your scorecard is training feedback, not a certificate. Paddle is our merchant of record and handles payments, and you can ask for a refund within 14 days.

Who you are contracting with

These terms are an agreement between you and Bepmpro (3B1-2, Gulberg III, Lahore, Pakistan). When you use Scrumagic you are contracting with us. For purchases, Paddle is our merchant of record (see Plans, payments and refunds).

By creating an account or continuing to use the service you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Scrumagic.

What Scrumagic is

Scrumagic is an online simulator. You take a seat on a fictional six-person Scrum team and run a project through the phases of a Scrum process, making decisions alongside AI teammates. It is designed for education and practice.

  • The teammates and scenarios are fictional. Names, companies, budgets and events in a scenario are invented for training.
  • Your scorecard is feedback, not a credential. Scrumagic is not a certification, accreditation or exam, and a scorecard is not an official grade. We do not promise that using Scrumagic will help you pass any exam or get any job.

Your account

  • You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to enter a binding contract where you live, or have a parent or guardian who agrees on your behalf. If you sign up for an employer or another organisation, you confirm you have the authority to bind it.
  • Give us accurate information and keep it up to date. One account is for one person; do not share it.
  • You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details safe, including any passkey and two-factor device, and for everything done under your account. We recommend turning on two-factor authentication or a passkey. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.

Plans, payments and refunds

Scrumagic has a Free plan and paid Pro plans (a monthly subscription and a one-time lifetime purchase). What each plan includes and what it costs is shown on our pricing information and again at checkout. Prices are in US dollars and may exclude taxes, which are added at checkout where they apply.

Paddle is our merchant of record. Paddle sells the paid plans to you, collects payment and taxes, issues receipts and invoices, and handles subscription billing, cancellations and refunds. Paddle's buyer terms apply to your purchase and cover payment, renewal, cancellation, fees, taxes and billing frequency. We never see your full card details.

  • Monthly subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time and keep Pro access until the end of the period you have paid for.
  • "Lifetime" means for as long as we offer the Pro plan. It is a single payment with no renewal. It does not mean your lifetime or ours; if we ever discontinue the service we will give you reasonable notice.
  • Fair use. Pro plans include AI-powered features that cost us money to run, so we apply a fair-use limit on how many simulations can be started in a month. We show the limit and when it resets in the app.
  • Price changes. If we change a price, it applies to new purchases and to renewals after we have told you in advance. Lifetime purchases are not charged again.
  • Promo codes and gifted Pro. We may give Pro for a period of time or for as long as we offer it, for example through a promo code, a reward for feedback, or an administrator adding it to your account. It has no cash value, cannot be sold or transferred, and is not a purchase, so there is nothing to refund. When the period ends your account returns to the Free plan, and we will email you beforehand where we can. We may withdraw it if it was obtained by misuse or by breaking these terms.
  • Refunds. You can ask for a refund within 14 days of any purchase, for any reason. See our Refund Policy for how to ask.

Acceptable use

Use Scrumagic for its intended purpose: learning and practising Scrum. You must not:

  • use it unlawfully, or for fraud or spam;
  • infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy, including by publishing personal data about others without a lawful basis;
  • interfere with security, for example by uploading malware, probing or scanning our systems, scraping the service, overloading it, or using bots or scripts to run simulations automatically;
  • attempt to get around plan limits, fair-use limits or rate limits, or access another person's account or simulations;
  • use the AI to create or seek illegal content or instructions for wrongdoing; hateful, harassing or threatening content or incitement to violence; sexual content involving people who have not consented, including deepfakes; or malware, hacking instructions or credential theft;
  • use the service to deceive or impersonate others, or misrepresent where content came from;
  • try to make the AI reveal its instructions, or evade its safety controls (for example "jailbreaking");
  • copy, resell or republish scenarios, teammates or other Scrumagic content, other than for your own personal learning, or reverse engineer any part of the service.

To enforce this section we may remove or restrict content, refuse or filter AI output, restrict features or access, and suspend or end accounts, both for breaches of these terms and where we reasonably suspect abuse.

Your content

"Your content" is what you enter into Scrumagic, mainly your decisions and any text you type during a simulation. You keep ownership of it, and you are responsible for it. You give us a limited licence to host, store, process and display it, and to send it to our AI providers, solely so that we can run your simulations and show you your results.

  • You confirm that you have the right to submit your content and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.
  • Please do not enter personal or confidential information about real people, your employer or your clients. Simulations do not need it, and your text is processed by third-party AI providers (see the Privacy Policy).
  • We do not use your content to train AI models ourselves.

AI-generated content

Teammates' replies, artifacts and scorecards are generated by AI language models based on your decisions and text ("outputs").

  • Outputs can be inaccurate, incomplete or unrealistic. Check anything you want to rely on. You are responsible for how you use or rely on outputs.
  • Outputs are for training only. Do not use them as legal, financial, employment or other professional advice, and do not rely on them for a regulated or high-stakes decision without a qualified professional reviewing them.
  • As between you and us, you may use the outputs generated for you for your own learning. Outputs may not be unique: similar outputs may be produced for other people, and we make no promise that an output is free of third-party rights.

Our content and trademarks

We own Scrumagic and everything in it, other than your content: the software, documentation, design, scenarios, teammates, wording and brand, and all related intellectual property. While your account is active we give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for your own learning, within your plan. If you send us feedback, we may use it without owing you anything.

Scrumagic's process is based on and aligned with the SBOK® Guide (Fifth Edition), a trademark of SCRUMstudy, a brand of VMEdu, Inc. Scrumagic is not affiliated with, endorsed by or certified by SCRUMstudy, Scrum.org or Scrum Alliance, and does not offer official certification or accreditation from any of them. Other names or marks mentioned belong to their owners.

Copyright and rights complaints. If you believe content in Scrumagic infringes your rights, email info@scrumagic.com with what you believe is infringing, where it appears, and your contact details. We will review the complaint, may remove the content, and will end the access of people who repeatedly infringe others' rights.

Third-party services

Scrumagic relies on other companies, including Paddle for payments, Google if you choose "Continue with Google" or we use Google Analytics, an email delivery provider, and AI model providers. We are not responsible for their services, and their own terms apply when you deal with them directly. The Privacy Policy explains what we share with them.

Beta and availability

Scrumagic is being built in stages. Parts of it are in beta: features, scenarios, limits and pricing may change, and there may be bugs. We aim to keep the service available and your progress safe, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service, and we may change, pause or remove features. When a change materially affects paid users we will try to tell you first.

Suspension and termination

You can stop using Scrumagic at any time, and you can delete your account from your account settings, which deletes your profile and your simulation data (see the Privacy Policy). Deleting your account cancels any active subscription straight away, so it stops renewing and your Pro access ends with the account. If we cannot cancel it, the account is not deleted. Deleting your account does not refund a payment; ask for refunds as described above, before you delete the account.

We may suspend or end your access if:

  • you materially breach these terms;
  • a payment fails or is reversed, or you do not pay what you owe;
  • we reasonably believe your account creates a security or fraud risk; or
  • you repeatedly or seriously break our acceptable-use rules or other policies,

or if the law requires it. Where we can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to fix the problem. When your access ends you can no longer use your account; we delete your data as set out in the Privacy Policy. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as ownership, disclaimers and liability) survive.

Disclaimers

Scrumagic is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or that the service will meet your requirements or be uninterrupted or free of errors. Some places do not allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill or loss of opportunity, arising from your use of Scrumagic. Our total liability to you for all claims relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim, or US$50 if you have not paid us anything. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for fraud or wilful misconduct, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any mandatory consumer rights you have.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and disputes are heard by the courts of Lahore, Pakistan. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts of your country if those laws allow it. We would like to hear about a problem first, so please contact us and give us a chance to put it right.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Scrumagic grows. If a change is significant we will tell you, for example by email or a notice in the app, before it takes effect. The "last updated" date above shows the current version. If you keep using Scrumagic after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.

General

  • The whole agreement. These terms, the Privacy Policy and the Refund Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Scrumagic, and replace anything agreed earlier about it.
  • If part is unenforceable. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in force, and we will replace that part with the closest one that is enforceable.
  • No waiver. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up.
  • Transfer. You may not transfer your account or these terms to anyone else. We may transfer ours to a successor to the business, and we will tell you if we do.
  • Notices. We may give you notice by email to the address on your account or by a notice in the app. You can reach us at the contact details below.
